Israel approves cease-fire to end 11-day conflict with Hamas

The Israeli security cabinet voted to approve a cease-fire in its 11-day conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, according to the office of the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The 11-day aerial conflict has left both sides with casualties as Hamas, equally, was said to have agreed—to stop the conflict Friday 2am local time—to the Egyptian proposal, “initiative for a bilateral cease-fire without any conditions, which will take effect later,” according to a statement.

The need to broker a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas came into being as conflict was about entering the 12-day with the Egyptian and the UN mediators seeking a resolution to end the conflict. The death toll stood at 232 Gazans and 12 Israelis, officials there said.
