It is in the Character of Women to be Greedy and Selfish – Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie

Veteran Nigerian actor, Pete Edochie says it is in women’s character to exhibit greed and selfishness.

He stated this in one of his Adakarl TV series where he speaks on a variety of socio-cultural issues.

According to Edochie, women have a way of bringing out unpleasant outcome in a normal social structure.

He cited an example of how five men can stay in a hostel room throughout their university and graduate without any issues. However, two women in a similar scenario usually triggers a sour outcome.

The Nollywood legend, however, added that it is not in every case that women represent bad influence.

It will be recalled that the actor had singled out feminism as one of the most notorious reasons for domestic violence against women in marriage.

The actor, while speaking with BBC Igbo, said feminism is alien and has no place in the culture of Africans.

He stated that most times women are the cause of their predicament, because they can’t keep their man as they always want to challenge the authority of their man.

He said: “Feminism isn’t something black people are known for. Once a woman leaves her parents to meet her husband and take his surname, she is to be submissive to him. If she wasn’t married, she can do whatever she wants,” he said.

Women walk and show off their behinds, it’s so that men would find them. If you see such a woman and express your marriage interest, then she starts walking properly. Our women now plunge into feminism nowadays.

They can’t even keep their husbands anymore. Is that a good thing? These women are schooled but a lot of wives now can’t even cook — one thing that a woman should be good in so as to be able to keep her husband.
