UNBELIEVABLE: Woman Gives Birth to Decuplets in South Africa

A South African woman, Gosiame Thamara Sithole, has reportedly given birth to a set of decuplets, breaking the Guinness Book of World Records of nine children.

Sithole’s surprise delivery is coming only a month after a Malian mother, Halima Cisse, gave birth to nine children in Morocco.

According to local media in South Africa, Thamara, 37, underwent a caesarian procedure to give birth to the babies, seven boys and three girls, setting a Guinness Book of World Records for the most children born by one mother in a single birth.

Local sources say Sithole and her husband, Teboho Tsotetsi were expecting eight children, but two of them missed the scan because they were tucked inside the incorrect tube

“I am shocked by my pregnancy. It was tough at the beginning I was sick. It was hard for me. It’s still tough but I am used to it now. I don’t feel pain anymore, but it’s still a bit tough. I just pray for God to help me deliver all my children in a healthy condition, and for me and my children to come out alive. I would be pleased about it,” Sithole told local media before her delivery.

Father of the babies, Tsotetsi told africannews.com that Sithole gave birth to their bundles of joy 29 weeks into her pregnancy, adding that her pregnancy was spontaneous because she was not on any fertility therapy.

Sithole, who also has a six-year-old set of twins, notified reporters about the decuplets’ birth late Monday night, adding he is ‘glad’ and ’emotional.’
